SC4 has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to develop new science classes focusing on freshwater systems. The grant will pay for curriculum development and some equipment. These will be SC4’s first freshwater systems classes. SC4 faculty are working to develop new science classes offering the study of ecological and biological aspects of freshwater systems. They will focus on Great Lakes and local waterways with classes expected to include field work. The classes are expected to be available in fall semester 2011.
